In case you have not heard....producer/composer David Cole of C&C Music
Factory died Tuesday night here in New York....after a 6 months of ailment
and in and out of the hospitals...for the record, "menangitis" was described
as the cause of death....which sounds like complications from AIDS for sure.

Cole was of course the mastermind behind C&C Music Factory along with his DJ
partner. You might also be familier with his work for Mariah Carey...

I think you're referring to Zelma Davis, and C+C's video, "Do You Wanna
Get Funky," which also featured ex-Weather Girl Martha Wash.

Cole was the light-skinned guy with yellowish-hair. Was he an albino,
or half-white?

Cole and his production partner Robert Clivilles occasionally popped up
in their videos, but intentionally left the limelight shining on
Zelma Davis and Freedom Williams.

Though honestly I was never a fan of his work, I still find this shocking.
Died at the age of 32? So young...I understand he won a couple Grammys
last year (for his work on Whitney Houston's "Bodyguard" sountrack).

Cole started out as a session keyboardist for The Weather Girls in the
early 80s...He co-wrote their (only) hit "It's Raining Men." As some of
you know, one of the Weather Girls was a singer named Martha Wash.
A few years later he had her singing "EVERYBODY DANCE NOWWWWW!" in his own
recording sessions...

Even though I wasn't really a fan of David Cole, it is sad that he died so
young. Most of his music wasn't all that original except (correct me if I
am wrong) a great house track entitled "Do It Properly". I think a lot of
housers will always remember that song and hence will remember David Cole.
