The Fat Boys reunion album will be dedicated to a member's six year-old
son, Quinton, and the rapper Darren Robinson, who died suddenly at his
Rosedale home, the group's manager said yesterday.

Mr. Robinson, 28, who weighed 450 pounds, died early Sunday while
working on the reunion album in his studio, said the group's manager,
Charles Stettler at Tin Pan Apple Records.

The cause of death has not been determined.

Mr. Robinson was recently diagnosed with lymphedema, a condition that
causes fluid from the lymph glands to become blocked in another part of the
body, said Linda West, another manager. Mr. Robinson was to begin
treatments for the condition in January.

Stettler said the Fat Boys - Mr. Robinson, Mark "Prince Markie Dee"
Morales and Damon "Kool Rockski" Wimbley - agreed to do a reunion album
about 10 days ago.

The group, discovered at a Brooklyn rap concert in 1983 and originally
called Disco 3, got their name when they ran up enormous room-service bills
on their first European tour, prompting an angry promoter to dub them the
"fat boys." The group's first album, "Fat Boys," went gold, their next two
albums sold millions of copies and they were featured in the films "Krush
Groove" and "Disorderlies."

The group broke up in 1991 when Morales left for a solo career. Mr.
Robinson and Wimbley hosted "Yo MTV Raps," and performed and produced other
rap artists after the trio broke up.

Survivors also include his father, Johnny; his mother, Elveen; a
brother and two sisters.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Grace Funeral
Chapel in Brooklyn.
