Why o why can't I find the name of one of the funkiest finger bassists on
the planet. If you ever listen to the HAIR Soundtrack you'll know what I'm
talking about.

Anyone has any clue who this funk master is. No liner notes on the CD, can't
find him on the internet either. He's a ghost.

"WILBUR BASCOMB
Wilbur, along with Jimmy Lewis, was one of the original Broadway Hair
bass players - he plays on the soundtrack for the 1977 Hair movie and
continues to play and record with Hair composer Galt MacDermot

Among the artists he's performed with include James Brown, Dr. John
and Aretha Franklin. Wilbur is the bass player on Jeff Beck's
influential 1975 jazz fusion album "Wired", and can regularly be heard
alongside legendary drummer Bernard "Pretty" Purdie."
