47 Palmer St.
Harvard Square
Cambridge, MA
Greetings from 47 Palmer Street. A quick personal note:
I'll be away in Israel during the month of July, so
sending me e-mail won't be such a great idea unless
you don't mind waiting until August 3rd for an answer.
As always, you can call (617) 492-7679 to make a
reservation. Because of phone issues (I won't get into
all the details here) there is very little chance that
you will get a "real" human, but if you specifically
ask to be called back we'll make sure it happens. If
you put a reservation on the answering machine,
consider it automatically confirmed unless we call you
back and tell you otherwise. Seats are held until
showtime.
Our restaurant has *finally* opened! I enjoyed a
meal there last night and strongly recommend the
felafo as well as the frozen yogurt with blueberries.
At this point, we serve snacks, a great selection of
beverages, lunches and light dinners from 11AM--11PM.
Check us out if you are in the Square and need a bite
to eat or if you are going to show.
Oh yeah, the music. All Thu.-Sat. night shows this
month start at 9PM. Here they are:
GREG GREENWAY Sat. July 1 $10 with special guest
DONNA MARTIN. A charismatic and compelling performer,
Greenway is riveting in concert. He brings the energy
of rock to the sensitivity of folk. This evening is a
Falcon Ridge Folk Festival preview. For more info,

drive. Made up of a number of long-time area bluegrass
scene members.

serious one moment, slyly grinning the next, this

from Rolling Stone, and "Best 1995 Album" from
Rhythm Music Magazine.
STAN MOELLER & T.S. BAKER Thu. July 27 $8 [FREE FOR

expression".

roots/folk band from New York offer their poignant
insights and hummable melodies. Again, one I'm sorry to
miss.

"Hey," you say, "I noticed some really great shows this
month were listed as 'free for members'. What does that
mean?"
As part of our on-going struggle to keep the tradition
alive here at 47 Palmer Street, there is a membership
program, a bit like public radio or TV. For $40
a year ($30 for students) you recieve free admission
every Sunday afternoon as well as free admission to
selected other shows. Other benefits abound--and the
best part is, you support Passim.
Call for details or ask at a show.
_______________________________________________________Also coming up...more great jazz, maybe some classical
performers--watch for more grand pianos to appear on
the stage! Bill Morrissey might take his band into
Club Passim to rehearse their next recording...maybe
a workshop or two on songwriting and performer? Got
an idea? Let us know!

If you have read this far, you must really love
Passim. :) Why not become a volunteer? There are
lots of things to do...Call Maria at (617) 492-7679
See ya'll next month
