I'll be grateful for any help. Thanks in advance.
Here's the whole thing as I learned it.

CATCH THE WIND by Donovan
In the chilly hours and minutes of uncertainty
I long to be in the warm hold of your loving mind
To feel you all around me and to take your hand along the sand
Ah, but I may as well try and catch the wind.
When sundown pales the sky I want to hide a while
Behind your smile and everywhere I'd look your eyes I'd find
For me to love you now would be the sweetest thing, t'would make me sing
Ah, but I may as well try and catch the sind
When rain has hung the leaves with tears I want you near
To kill my fears, to help me to leave all my blues behind
For standing in you heart is where I want to be and long to be
Ah, but I may as well try and catch the wind
In the chilly hours and minutes of uncertainty, I want to be
In the warm hold of your loving mind,
To feel you all around me and to take a stand along the sand,
Ah, but I may as well try and catch the wind
When sundown pales the sky I want to hide a while behind your smile
And everywhere I'd look your eyes I'd find...
Played using C, F, G shapes but:
KEEP YOUR PINKY DOWN ON THE TOP G! (or capo + 3 on top e string)
Hope this helps...

Another entry (before I saw Bev's response). I listened to an old tape I
made (in April, '65) and tried to jot down the words as best I could
understand them. I get:
"In the chilly autumn mist of uncertainty, I want to be,
In the warm hold of your love and mine.
To feel you all around me, and to take your hand along the sand,
I promise: we'll try and catch the wind.
When sundown pales the sky, I want to hide a while behind your smile,
And everywhere I look, your eyes I'll find;
For me to love you now would be the sweetest thing; 'twould make me sing,
I promise: we'll try and catch the wind."
Similar, but not identical. No guarantee as to accuracy. Another Donovan
hit from the same year was "Colours."

"Catch the Wind" is the title track of a new CD from The Irish Descendants.
