Hi
Does anyone recommend any good online radio stations that play folk or adult
contemporary music, also any MP3 URL's so I can be certain what CD's to
purchase.

Here are a couple of my recommendations

Radio:

Radio Scotland - http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/radioscotland/ Tom Morton &
Ian Anderson shows
WFMU New Jersey - http://www.wfmu.org/ Radio Thrift Shop on Saturday
afternoon with Laura Cantrell

MP3 URL's

Laura Cantrell, All the same to you -
http://user836045.wx5.registeredsite.com/mp3/allthesametoyou.mp3
Lynn Miles, Undertow -

Thanks in advance

There's just no end of places to hear good folk music on the Internet these
days. For MP3's you can legally download, they've got some very
interesting independent folk artists at mp3.com's folk category, which you
will find here:

http://genres.mp3.com/recommendation_radio/world_folk/folk/

For webcasters, I'd suggest starting with WUMB at this URL:

http://wumb.org/

and then there's Internet Folk Festival at this URL:

http://www.internetfolkfestival.com/

and you should also try Online Folk Festival at this URL:

http://www.onlinefolkfestival.com/index.html

And then, if you feel like exploring on your own, there are about 800
stations on Live365 that are listed in this directory:

http://www.live365.com/cgi-bin/directory.cgi?genre=folk

Hope you like them...and let us know what you discover...there's so much out
there these days that nobody can really cover all of it.

Enjoy!

Thanks for recommending the Online Folk Festival. Let me add a couple
more stations from live365 that are worthwhile for those who like folk
music.

radiowayne is run by Wayne Greene, a talented singer/songwriter from
Frisco, Texas. In addition to a lot of folk music, radiowayne also
includes a wide variety of country, bluegrass, Celtic,
singer/songwriter, cajun/zydeco, and Tin Pan alley music. Quite
eclectic. radiowayne can be found at
http://www.live365.com/stations/radiowayne?play

RismixLive is a station that specialized in singer/songwriters, pretty
much irrespective of genre distinctions. You're as likely to hear Dar
Williams as Bruce Springsteen. It's a fine mix.
