Whatever happened to Chris McGuire (of Ellen James Society)?

stuff and was wondering if anyone knew if she was still making music
or playing clubs or anything. A friend that saw her a year ago
(and got this tape for me) said that Chris McGuire told her that
she was planning on going to Ireland or Scotland for a while.
Chris McGuire used to be the lead singer of Ellen James Society,
which was on Daemon Records (Amy Ray's label, which also has
Kristen Hall), but they broke up a couple of years ago.
If anyone has any information please let me know (through email
preferrably, since I don't get to news all that often).
Also, anyone know when the new Tracy Chapman CD is coming out? I
heard sometime this fall, but that could be anytime from now till
Decemeber.

Well well well! Chris is doing just great, her new band is called Mary
Fortune Express, and they've been together for a year. The www site is

My company is putting out the debut CD, due in February, featuring appearances
by Michelle Malone (of Band de Soleil) and Kristen Hall. Recording is just
finishing up this week.
It's very sonic, it's very alternative, and it's very, very good.
(and yeah, Chris went to Ireland, but only for a couple of weeks)

a tape out which is advertised on Hidden Water. Like Kristin Hersh she's
ditched her solo folk act - MFE is an electric band.
