I working on a project where I need to find the best web sites on folk
music. I thought asking people in this news group would be the best way
to begin my search. I'm looking for sites directed to people with a
general interest in folk music, as well as sites that provide links to
specific singers and groups.

Any help would be much appreciated,

I omitted all the guitar related sites since you seemed to be more
focused on Folk music. However, I left in the Folk instrument sites
because they often lead you to other Folk sites.

There's lot's to explore. Good luck on your project.

Best folk websites?

Folkbook, first of all. Really great resource.

Two others are listed below. Acoustic Northwest, which tries to draw
attention to the best songwriters and traditional players in the US and
Western Canada, and secondly, Mark Spittal's homepage, a wonderful,
talented, incredibly good looking, charmin....sorry, my ego went on a
very large trip on that last one, as I am Mark Spittal...need to take my
medication... 8-)
