Thanks for having a listen & a comment, Fred.

Yes, Jack will probably be tinkering with my vocal track, I'll
definitely pass along to him what you had to say about them.

Thanks again.

That's okay. He sounds much better when you can't hear him!

Jack Snipe's tinkering with the mix this week (he also played the lead
guitar, bass & drums on the track), and here's a transcription of the
poem the song evolved from:

Ashes to Justice

Sundown about a week ago,
I took a rest.
I burned the winter bullets
at her request.

She reached out and touched him
through her void.
And when his heart burst
his dream was destroyed.

Ashes to justice
they spread in the dust... us.
Spirits in the air
and the voice is there.

She fled to the underground
as clear as dawn.
All the fragments were strewn
they could not be found.

They were of pictures
stained on the glass.
The smell of summer
rising up from the grass.

What he can do
is what he don't want to do.
Look into her chemicals
and the cobalt eyes.

His head fell suddenly
against the ground.
The glass on the canvas
made a crinkling sound.

Ashes to dust... us
is looking for justice.
Spirit in the air
going who knows where.

"Burned the winter bullets..."

1. WTF does that even mean Will?

2. After the 1st stanza "you" become "him",
what happened, did your lover's husband
come home forcing you to flee?

3. "...reached out and touched him through her void..."

That is a disturbing image. How in the hell did she
get her hand into her "void" in the first place?

Just wonderin'

LOL. OMG that's funny. I just LOVE it when Angel reaches out and
touches me through her void. Look Ma. No hands! Kiss kiss kiss.

I'm sorry. Is that too disturbing an image for you? I suppose you'd
rather Bob your head up and down between my [...] Kneed I suggest that
your sexual interests are no concern of mine? I'm sure you can handle
your own business and I don't care what you do just so long as you get
off on this because you're the reason I wrote it. LOL.

You'll have to wait. It takes me a few minutes to recoup. It's
nobody's fault, just refractory. Period, end of story.

The line was originally "April Bullets", if that helps.

Two different characters, yes, but I'll leave it to the listener to
decide who married who or who shot John.

Well, she reached *through* her void.

*through the void*

Look into her chemical eyes, the cobalt
spirit's in the air, in the sound, in the dust,
stained on the glass canvas, clear as dawn,
the smell of summer ashes raising up,
fragments, from underground, looking for
us.

Interesting interpretation in your sampling/cut-up of the images from
my original version, Adam, thanks for posting.
