I can heartily second the invitation to visit RC if you are in the
Norfolk, VA area. I puchased my first two acoustic guitars from Bob
Zentz, one of the owners (and a great folk performer himself). I have
some fond memories of spending time there while in the Navy and stationed
in Norfolk. One of the best concerts I have ever attended was on a
Sunday evening, in the store. I got there early and managed to get a
front row seat (but they were ALL good seats since the place was really
pretty small) just a few feet from Roy Bookbinder, who gave a great and
really intimate performance.

The last time I was at RC was in 1979. Has the store really been
moved out by (the all too commercial) Military Circle Mall? Back in the
late 70's RC's was located on Hampton Blvd, right across the street from
Old Dominion University. ODU used to sponsor a 3-day folk festival
which attracted a lot of the East Coast people (Bok, May, Muir, Rookbinder
and other Folk-Lagacy artists).

A recent high point was finding Bob Zentz' first album, 'Mirrors and
Changes' in one of the used vinyl stores here in St. Paul.
