There are three essential Commandments:
Respect The Elders.
Embrace The New.
Encourage The Impractical and Improbable, Without Bias.

PETER WOLF If You Wanna Be With Somebody

Last week, when Peter Wolf was on the show, we talked about the famous Bob
Dylan appearance on Cynthia Gooding's "Folksingers Choice" radio show on
WBAI, 3/11/62, just before the release of his first album. It's a
fascinating performance during which you can hear him, at age 20,
"inventing" himself on the spot. The show has been bootlegged almost from
the day it originally aired. I played several selections from an excellent
quality European boot CD I came across a few years ago. I normally don't
play bootlegs, but this one is so special, so historic and so unique, that
I'm quite willing to bend my rule and dip into it from time to time. As
Dylan and Columbia begin to officially release some of the legendary
"boots" (like "Live 1966") maybe they'll consider putting this one out
someday ó it's a classic.
