From reading the thread on the Anti-Garden song, which, if memory serves me,
is by Eric Kilburn, I'm interested in obtaining a recording of it. Is it on
a Fast Folk album? If it's on a small label, what is the address/phone#?
Thanks in advance! Hiram

The lyrics are in _Rise_Up_Singing_. In the back of the book is an ad for a
set of tapes that, if you buy them all, cover all of the songs in the book.
That particular song is on "Ballads & Blues: 216 (Mostly) Traditional
Folksongs," (due to be released this year or next) for $34.95 (or $175 for
the whole set).

I recommend calling Sing Out Publications at (215) 865-5366. You should
probably ask them specifically if the "Anti-Garden Song" is on the tape
since its lyrics are presented as alternate lyrics to the Garden Song.

Good luck.

The song is on _Carrying On_ Wellspring Records 1003
Serendipity Productions, 961 Beacon Street, Newton Centre, MA 02159
(617) 244-3928
(if still available, I'm sure it is cheaper than the $34.95 tape mentioned in
another post.)

I got this info off of the album - it was made in 1985, so I cannot vouch for
the address and phone being current. (It's worth trying)

Another possible place to try is Cheapo Records in Cambridge MA - they often
have old stock of local musicians (on vinyl). I don't have the phone number,
but information should have it ((617) 555-1212)

Eric Kilburn is listed in the Dirty Linen tour schedule, so he still performs.
(one listing for The Folkway in Peterborough, NH on August 26.)

To the person looking for Eric Kilburn records:

You could ask Passim Coffee Shop (617-492-7679)
They sell records and CD's in the gift shop, and Eric is
certainly a regular there.

I think Eric's moved out of Newton but it's been a while...

That address and phone number are in his ad in the 1990-92 edition of
the FAN Folk Directory. I'm pretty sure I've seen much more recent
ads, but can't seem to find them right now. The studio credit for
Diane Zeigler's cuts on the _American Impressionist Songwriters_ album
list Wellspring in Newton Centre, and they were recorded within the
last year. Furthermore, Kilburn and Wellspring provided the sound
for some recent concert in the area (maybe the WUMB 10th anniversary?),
so I'd say there's about a 99% chance that the phone and address are
still valid.
