Anyone know what became of Bruce Murdoch, the "follk singer" who made
the coffee house circuit in the mid 1960s? He was featured on the
Elektra lp, ' Singer/Songwriter Project'. He lived in the Village and
later moved to California.

I thought he was Canadian and went back there. In any case Mike Regenstreif
has the answers.

Bruce was from Montreal and was back here by the late-'60s. He was
very active on the Montreal folk scene during the early-to-middle-70s. He
stopped performing by the late-'70s and moved to Alberta. He taught high
school for a while and I recently heard from a mutual friend that he's now a
high school principal in Alberta.

BTW, Bruce recorded two more LPs after the SINGER-SONGWRITER PROJECT.
33 AND 1/3 REVOLUTIONS PER MINUTE (Stormy Forest) which was marred by truly
deadful production and BRUCE MURDOCH (Radio Canada International) which was
very good. I played a song from it on my radio show this past week.

Yes, I went to Verdun High School in Montreal, Quebec & was friends with his sister Nancy Murdoch. I am Carol Hogan from Verdun, Montreal Quebec. I am 65 years old now. New Penelope Yellow Door coffee houses etc. Also, watched Richie Havens there as well. Also I worked at New Penelope where Sonny Terry & Brownie McGee played. Everyone played the Penelope. In high school, Bruce was in a trio, with a black chick & white guy with glasses. Get back to me at hofanc...@gmail.com, Bruce. Shout out to Nancy Murdoch from Carol Hogan.

I hung around the Yellow Door in the 70s. Linda Tomasini was my best buddy and she, Bruce and whoever would play bridge in the afternoon. This is when Chuck Baker ran the place. Can anyone give me an update on Linda. I have lived all across Canada and have lost touch. Also I know Bruce lives in Ormstown-along with I assume George Gruenfeld and Lindsay Cameron. Contact info please.
