Daniel O'Donnell eh??? Well I will put aside my own sentiments about his music
and tell you that the D.O.D. song most likely to have been heard outside of
Ireland is called, I believe, A Veil Of White Lace. It was a big hit. Sounds an
awful lot like the old American folk song On Top Of Old Smokey. But you dont
say where you are so I dont know if that will be helpful at all!

Dear Greene (& all): >Well I will put aside >my own sentiments about his music
. . .
I think o'donnell is much overrated. Any folkmusic singer worthy of recording
in the USA's in the 60's/70's/80's is better. 'Twould be better if he recorded
Folk & Pop music of Ireland, like, for example, The Chieftains. But naggh, he
insists on doing music popular here, & singing it in a squeeky voice. Humbug!

If you want a real Irish singer who can do the stuff, listen to Sean
Keane. What D oD should be like, were it not for the Donegal Cowboy Culture.
