If you REALLY want to get info on mandolins, send a note to

COM...@VM1.NODAK.EDU

which is a mandolin mail server. Ask the sysop to send you subscription
information. You don't even have to pay, unlike Compuserve. And there
are
some terrific folks who know about all manner of mando trivia/minutiae.
