Hey folks!

Just stopping by with what I hope ends up being a quickly-resolved question.

There is a melody from my childhood that has haunted me for years. I've
decided to finally take a stab at finding out just what it is.

I'm fairly certain it has something to do with clocks or time. There is a
"tick tock" beat to it, and part of the melody is reminiscent of "Mama's
Little Baby Loves Shortening Bread". I caught a bit of it on a PBS show many
years ago but I didn't think to track it down at the time.

If it helps, I can do up a .wav file...

Thanks in advance!

I checked that one already. The song had a similar 'flavor' but not the
melody I was looking for. :o(

All I remember of the PBS show was a sequence that included an antique clock
face drifting through the screen - the song (which was actually being sung;
before this I didn't suspect there were lyrics) played in the background.

As for the childhood memory, I recall briefly playing with a windup toy in a
store. It may have been from Fisher-Price. I can't be quite sure of this,
but I seem to remember there being daytime and nighttime scenes slowly
scrolling past, which I think were illuminated in some way. The melody
accompanied this animation. Sadly, I wasn't able to talk Mom & Dad into
getting it for me...

Now that I think of it, perhaps I could find out through Fisher-Price...

Thanks for the stab at an answer...

Case closed.

It turned out to be "My Grandfather's Clock" after all. I just didn't listen
to the MIDI files closely enough.

Thanks one last time.
