Sometime last year we heard a very funny story/song on NPR about a guy who
was supposed to be writing a social studies report on Zanzibar but
instead subliminally came up with this loony song "Zanzibar, Zanzibar,
Zansibar is very far, you can't get there in your car, it's too far to
Zanzibar." Etc. etc. the longer it went on the more we were in stitches.
Of course by now NPR has forgotten all about it. Anyone have info?

Darn! I remember that! I've heard the guy several other times on
NPR, so keep listening. Its usually stories from his childhood.
Some are as funny as Garrison Keillor's featuring Mrs. Myers and
Bob and Hoppy.

The commentator was Bill Harley, I think. He has had featured spots
now and again on All Things Considered. He lives somewhere in Mass.
