Superb. If you like France, are a musician and like the musicians listed
above then this is the festival for you. A brilliant location, superb
hospitality, good weather (nearly always) and superb value for money.
I shall be there this year. Anyone else intending to go?

Shhhhhhh... Don't tell anybody about it. It's getting too popular
as it is!
Peter.
:-)
What kind of effect has this had on the toilets in recent years?
Well they've built a toilet block by the village square to stop late
nighers using the nearby gardens, the campsites still use the portable
tin shack squat jobs which flush straight into the river, but they
supplement them with chemical portaloo things.
It puzzles me how the river, which is small and doesn't flow much in
the summer, copes with the produce of several thousand people.
It's still not a good plan to get the chytz!
Peter.

Funny I was there in August and I didn't notice that.

The rivers in the Indre are amongst some of the most polluted in France -
something to do with the farmers.
A couple of summers ago I stopped off in La Chatre for a few days and
remember seeing a display of work by school children in St Chartier which
was all about how dead their rivers were. A great shame.
BTW, La Chatre in August is brilliant. I often stop at the campsite for a
few days en route down south. Never anybody around for miles. And there is
that superb dam and water centre a few miles to the east.
Thanks! (Also Gennetines, dance festival the following week...)
