Somewhere (it may have been here) I read an article about a German who, at
the turn of the century, was a migrant worker in Texas. He played accordian
with the Mexicans. I really do think the German/Bavarian tradition has
influenced Mexican folk. I am no expert, but I have played accordian myself
with a small Mexican gospel group. I play Mexican and Yugoslavian and
Ragtime all at the same time. But, they like it. But from the music I've
heard (mostly gospel), I think German music was VERY influential.
