Zesty Records and the musicians of Camp Hoboken are saddened to
announced the following news:

In the early morning hours of December 27, Don Brody, singer,
songwriter and guitarist of The Marys, died in his sleep of natural
causes while visiting family in Ohio. He was 44. He is survived by his wife
Cheryl and their two young children, Perry and Molly Pearl.

Based in Hoboken, the Marys were a mainstay of the New York/New Jersey,
folk/acoustic scene for nearly a decade. The duo, which featured Don
and his singing partner Connie Sharar, had just released a new CD, BACK THIS
WAY on Zesty Records. Don was also known by many for his behind-the-scenes work
in the music industry, co-founding Camp Hoboken and Zesty Records as well as
his position at Razor & Tie Records.

It's impossible to describe how badly Don's death has shaken us and
virtually everyone in the Hoboken music scene. Don was a kind, funny and
enormously generous guy. Everyone who crossed his path was a better person for
having done so. As one friend put it, "The world needs more Don Brodys, not
less."

Our deepest sympathies go out to his family.

Also, on a personal note, Connie wishes to express her thanks for the love and
support the folk community has shown The Marys over the last year or so.

Arrangements are being made for a service for Don in Hoboken. We will announce
details as they become known to us. Condolences and messages to his family can
be sent to Zesty Records by e-mail or snail mail. We will ensure that they all
reach Cheryl and the kids.
