Hi,

I need a song ID! I remember hearing a song on the radio a few years ago
that had the following lines in the chorus:

"There's another train
There always is..."

Sorry, I know that's not much to go on. But if you know the song then
you might recognize even those two lines. The song is about not regretting
missed opportunities because there will always be other ones.

So, if someone could tell me the title and artist of this song - and
better yet, the lyrics - I would appreciate that!

Thanks,

Joyce W.

"Another Train" was written by Pete Morton, and is on his album "Big Joke"
(that's probably not the right title, but it's something like that). It is
also available sung by the Poozies on their first album, "Chantoozies" (an
import that's available from House of Musical Tradition and Andy's Front
Hall) and on Sally Barker's solo album (can't recall the title) on Hannibal
(she was formerly the lead singer of the Poozies). This last one is my
favorite, and it's a very powerful version.

I believe the song is "Another Train" by Pete Morton. I have a
version of it on Eileen McGann's album "Journeys".

It's called "Another Train" and it's a truely wonderful piece of
music--one of my all-time favorite songs, in fact. It was written by
English singer/songwriter Pete Morton and originally appeared on his
album "One Big Joke" (Harbourtown Records 1988, released in the USA on
Green Linnet). He usually does it in his concert sets. It has also been
done by Sally Barker on the CD version of her album "The Rhythm Is
Mine" (Hannibal), and by Sally with the Poozies on the Poozies album
"Chantoozies" (Ariola).

Hi there,
"Another Train" was written by English songwriter Pete Morton. The
first time I heard this was by Eileen McGann on her "Journeys" CD
{Dragonwing Music DRGN 113CD} (a beautiful version of a great song!)
Here's the lyrics:

The beginning is now and will always be
You say you lost your chance and fate brought you defeat
But that means nothing. You look so sad
You've been listening to those who say you've missed your chance

CHORUS
There's another train, there always is
Maybe the next one is yours: you can climb aboard another train

You feel you're done: there's no such thing
Although you're standing on your own, your own breath is king
The beginning is now, don't turn around
Regrets about mistakes will only drain you

We crawl in the dark sometimes and think too much
Then we fill our heads with crazy things that only break our hearts
And I know you've seen what the earth can do
When it's dragging down another road of worrisome fools

I know it's hard when you feel confused
You can crowd yourself with fears 'til you feel you cannot move
You're building words that don't exist
Imagination plays the worst tricks

....... wonderful song,
Enjoy & Cheers

I believe that that is a Pete Morton song... on his "One Big Joke" album.

. . was written by Brian Bedford of Artisan, an English group
(three-person, a capella) -- great song, absolutely terrific group, they
have an e-mail address:

If you still need the lyrics let me know; they are on either Breathing
Space, or Rocking at the End of Time -- I could send them to you when I get
more time.

The song is "Another Train", it was written by Pete Morton, and you
can find it recorded by Eileen McGann on her "Journeys" album, put out
by Dragonwing Music, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It should be available
in quite a few places as Eileen tours in the US fairly often. The
British trio Artisan also recorded it on their "Rocking at the End of
Time" CD.

Thanks for the mention Danna.
The Artisan version is fairly laid back and melodic. Pete's own version
is more up-tempo and is also available on an album on Gordon Jones
Harbourtown label. I thing the album title is "One Big Joke" Am I right,
Gordon?

Is this the song that Sally Barker sings on her 'The rhythm is mine'
album and also with The Poozies on their 'Chantoozies' album? - I don't
have either albums at hand at the moment - but, yes a great song!

Google groups I guess. That one goes deep into the past.

I am using nntp.olduse.net on the side, and sometimes I really have to
fight the urge to respond to some of the posters there. The posts in
question are of course at least 30 years old.
