Hello? Does anyone know if Gordon Lightfoot is going to be touring anytime
soon? I hear that his voice isn't what it it used to be, but I have just
discovered his music and would like to see him live. Any info would be
greatly appreciated. ie is he still touring at all...

much thanks,
Dylan Humphrey

Pardon me, but I'm new at this.

Gord has some dates lined up between now and Christmas.
He'll make his usual Massey Hall appearances in March.
If you'd like to get on his mailing list then drop a letter to:

EMP, Ltd
1365 Yonge Street
Suite 207
Toronto, ON Canada
M4T 2P7

or call:
(416) 924-1146

Gord is in great shape, and is doing fine. My guess is that you'll find
this as one of the best discoveries of your life.

start at 9PM and generally run through 12:30AM. PLEASE NOTE THE 10PM

automatically, send a reply to this posting and we will add you to the
Postcrypt electronic mailing list.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 4______________________________________________________

PETER MULVEY - His lyrics focus on coming of age amidst the tremors and
ironies of the last decades of now...plus, fan Jim Infantino says, "he's
really killer on guitar." Welcome Peter for his Postcrypt debut!

EDDY LAWRENCE - Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Eddy recently
released his fourth album on the 1-800-PRIME-CD label. Dirty Linen
describes him as a "genius of a wordsmith, creating stories and
characters that aren't readily forgotten."

WOODEN INDIANS - This trio just manages to squeeze their upright bass
onto the diminutive Postcrypt stage. They'll be closing out the night
with their jazzy tunes.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 5_____________________________________________________

HOWARD EMERSON - All you lovers of fine fingerpicking and beautiful
bottleneck can rejoice! This guitarist extraordinaire has played with
Billy Joel, Eric Andersen, and David Bromberg.

WOLOSHIN & GRIFFIN - This NY-based country duo of Ellen Woloshin and
Barney Griffin has played at the prestigious Blue Bird Cafe in
Nashville. They met when Ellen was teaching a class on recording
advertising jingles, and Barney signed up as a student!

JAMES REAMS & BILL CHRISTOPHERSEN - James recently released his debut CD
entitled "Kentucky Songbird," and he brings his country crooning and
guitar-playing back to the Postcrypt with fiddle player Bill
Christophersen (who recently admitted that he first graced our stage in
1970!).

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 11 - STARTING TIME: 10 PM______________________________

BILL CUD-DYER - Based in Boston, Bill has shared bills with folks like
Bill Morrissey and Ellis Paul. The Boston Phoenix refers to him as
"David Byrne meets Edgar Allen Poe."

THE NUDES - This acoustic eclectic duo has been on the road for most of
'94 and has been opening eyes all over the country. Guitarist Walter
Parks and celloist Stephanie Winters have become Postcrypt favorites,
and they're sure to pack the house!

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 12 - STARTING TIME: 10 PM____________________________

OPEN STAGE - Folk, blues, bluegrass, jazz, reggae - you name it! We
also welcome poets, storytellers, actors, comics, and performers of all
kinds. Performances start at 10:00; sign-up begins promptly at 9:45.
Eight to ten minute limit.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 18_____________________________________________________

PETER SPINK - Peter recently released his debut CD, "Won't Be Denied,"
and it's been getting plenty of airplay on national radio. Welcome back
this thoughtful singer-songwriter-guitarist to the Postcrypt stage.

RICHARD MEYER - The former editor of Fast Folk Musical Magazine, Richard
has been active as both a performer and a producer in the Greenwich
Village scene for over ten years. Dirty Linen says his songs "blend
folk-pop sensitivity with a hard-hitting New York potency."

THE METROTONES - Columbia's own student a capella ensemble will amaze
you with their gorgeous harmonies as they close out the night.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 19____________________________________________________

ILENE WEISS - Ilene's performances capture the full range of her
sometimes quirky and always insightful songwriting. She also wears a
really cool pair of sneakers!

RICHARD SHINDELL - Richard's second CD on Shanachie Records, "Blue
Divide," has received glowing reviews. He also recently played at the
Putamayo Benefit for the Homeless at Carnegie Hall. What a great way to
finish out Postcrypt's fall season!

WE WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL JANUARY 20. SEE YOU IN 1995!

I know he was just at the Fresno Fair and he was up here in Spokane,
Washington a few weeks ago. I went to the concert, I loved it. His
music is great, so romantic. Wish I could get a pretty little fellow
college girl here in Moscow to listen to it with me, but I quess a wish
is just that.
