I wonder if anyone could tell me what Shay Black (brother of Mary) is
doing at the moment.
Last I heard he had married and moved from Liverpool to somewhere in

Hiya, Daisy,

Shay has been here in San Francisco for some time, gigging with Brother
Michael and fiddler Brian Godchaux (when he's not busy with Danny
Poullard or The Frontmen.)

The Black Brothers have had a busy March, what with the big Celtic Arts
Faire and lots of Irish all-stars gigging around town. I know they work
regularly at The Plough & The Stars:

That about sums it up; both Michael (for some years now) and now
Shay live right around here near Berkeley, California.

And, in my opinion, their performances keep getting better
and better. This month, Martin was out to do some gigs
with them, which was nice.

The three of them have a new recording (discussed previously
on this group).

Yes, he's living in Oakland. I believe he met his wife at
Michael's wedding. The two of them are performing a lot
around here with fiddler Brian Godschaux. And the three
Black brothers performed together a week or so ago at
a few places in this area. I don't know if they toured
more widely. They put on a great show as you might expect.
