Yes, for some reason Polydor aren't rereleasing the two Christy Moore albums
on their label ("Whatever Tickles Your Fancy" and "Christy Moore") and
(more understandably), Mercury aren't rereleasing his 1969 debut "Welcome
Paddy Home". However, don't hold your breath for "The Spirit Of Freedom" -
it won't see the light of day again. It wasn't actually ever released outside
Ireland anyway and its political content means that WEA are unlikely to
put it out on CD (after they made him retract the original version of
"Ordinary Man" and substitute a controversial song). I'm not sure Christy
himself wants to see it out these days, as the situation in Northern Ireland
has changed somewhat since then. Still, it was musically a pretty strong
record and the less political songs on it were rerecorded in somewhat
more overproduced versions for "Ride On".

"Live at the Point" is his new live album, which is also his current
album. Should be very easy to find, actually, but it's possble that
they don't distribute it in the US. "Live in Dublin" is from 1979
and has just been rereleased on CD by Tara Records. Completely different
albums and pretty different style as well. I prefer "Dublin" myself.

"Live in Dublin" is an excellent album, and is now available on CD (TARA
CD 2005), but doesn't contain either of the 2 songs that you're looking for.

thanks folks -- what I wanted and now own is "At the Point: LIVE." On
Grapevine/Polygram. I don't *think* it's available over here but problem
might be caused by me thinking it started with "Live" in the title.
Anyway sent to me by a UK friend. Yes I know Irish of course! but the
label is UK! (BTW -- that request is quite ancient and I didn't realize
was still on the newsgroup - apologies).
NB absolutely *terrific* stuff and the chemistry with the audience is
fabulous.
Is it true that Christy Moore's early work is known as "Pre-Prosperous"?
