I see the sea shanty database included material by Oscar Brand. Anyone
know how Oscar is these days?
Does he have an email?
He used to host a show called "Let's Sing Out " on Canadian TV (CTV) and
had every folksinger of the day (this was 60's for a number of years)
except for Bob Dylan. But Eric Anderson and Tom Rush and numerous others
were on his show. Great show in the mid of the folk revival. During the
McCarthy 50's he was blacklisted (off network radio in the US),lost his
total income:he said he went from thousands per week to nil..just like that
(snapped fingers). His career recovered. In fact, his contract with
Canadian television included a clause that no one could be blacklisted off
his show. Oscar- a good man and performer.
I also would like to know about folksinger/radio host Cynthia Gooding (from
NYC) is still around?
I have a copy of her interview (circa 1962) with Bob Dylan. She was
excellent as was her show.

Thanks

FUnny, I've just been giving a friend a listen to her 1960 LP "Queen
of Hearts" which someone else has recently recorded (although I prefer
hers). Please post any further info, including whether any recordings
are available. Thanks.

I met her in 1984, and she was quite pleasant and pleased to have
her singing remembered. She was living on East 58th street, across from
Bloomingdale's shipping docks. Maybe this will stir someone else's memory.

In response to a previous post about Cynthia Gooding, someone said she
had died a few years back. I have enjoyed her LP "Queen of Hearts,"
borrowed from my parents, for years. Any other recommendations/sources?
