Back during the 60s and 70s, one of my favorite folk/blues
artists was Spider John Koerner, one of the Elektra Records
group of folk and blues performers. Spider John made some
great recordings. I kind of lost track of his work a long
time ago and I was wondering if any of you know of him and
know of any current work he is doing?
Another artist I am curious about is Patrick Sky. I also
enjoyed his work. Anyone know what happened to him and if he
has current recordings available.
And last but not least, there was a folk artist by the
name of Bruce Murdoch who appeared on an Elektra recording
of numerous artists called "The Singer Songwriter Project".
He had some interesting work on that record, one piece
called "Farewell My Friend" that was quite nice. Anyone know
what happened to him?

Spider John Koerner is still very active as both a solo artist and in
occasional reunions of Koerner, Ray & Glover.

I'm not aware of Patrick doing any performing in recent years (I could
be wrong about that). Last I heard he was making Uillean pipes.

Bruce stopped performing about 20 years ago. He now teaches school in
Alberta.

Spider John is quite alive and well. He is appearing with Utah
Phillips, Rosalie Sorrels, Pop Wagner, Larry Penn and a dozen other
greats at the HOBO RENDEZVOUS 2000 to be held in Elko Nevada on July
28-29-30. For further details see our website www.hobo.org

Yes, he's still performing, although he hasn't recorded anything in
recent years. He played here in Boston two weeks ago and sounded great.

It's a couple years old now, but I profiled him in "Dirty Linen" issue
#75 (April/May 1998), and you can read the text on our web site. Go to
<http://www.dirtylinen.com>, click on "Back Issues", scroll to issue
#75, and click on his name.

Here is the official site for Spider John:
http://people.ne.mediaone.net/strother/LAGADO/koerner/

I've set up a page for KR&G with links to individual pages for each of the
guys:
http://hometown.aol.com/elrayox81/myhomepage/collection.html

I also have copies of all his albums, as well as Ray & Glover.

I've set up a photo page as well of pics I've found on the web. One day I'll
add the photos my wife took when I get them scanned:

Dave "Snaker" Ray is still performing as well, although I'm not sure how
often he plays outside Minnesota. The song "Poor Howard" is on the album
"The Return of Koerner, Ray & Glover" which has been reissued on CD on
the Red House label (RHR 131). They have a web site at
