Does anyone have a discography for Connie Dover? Just picked up her new
CD, _Somebody_, on the recommendation of a friend & was much impressed.

Name, voice, and title cut seemed familiar - apparently the lady sung
with a group called _Scartiglen_ (on a album of the same name) about a
decade back.

Would appreciate any info on other albums/CD's/whatever that she may have
appeared on... thanks!!

Connie Dover was and is a member of the Kansas City based group, Scartaglen.
They split up almost two years ago, but regrouped within the last year. I saw
them in their latest incarnation last March at the North Texas Irish Festival
in Dallas. Scartaglen recorded two LPs, which are probably not available on
CD. Their albums are as follows:

"Scartaglen" (Kicking Mule KM-327, 1984).
Musicians: Dave Brown (concertina, bodhran), Connie Dover (accordian,
piano, synthesizer, vocals), Mike Dugger (guitar, mandolin,
vocals), Matt Kirby (hammered dulcimer, melodeon), Roger
Landes (cittern, mandolin, tenor banjo, bodhran), Kirk Lynch
(guitar, bozouki), Frank Martin (flute, tin whistle), Keith
Van Winkle (fiddle, viody), with Dave Agee (fiddle, mandolin,
bones, vocals), Kathy Agee (flute, tin whistle, piano,
synthesizer, vocals), Brian McNeill (fiddle, cittern,
concertina, percussion).
Producer: Brian McNeill (formerly of Battlefield Band).
Musical selections: (side 1) Kuppari Eeva/Lucy Ashton's Song/Haughs
of Cromdale * Bouree de Limousin/J'ai vu le loup, le renard,
et la belette/Pas d'ete Henri Caillaux * Blue Jay and the
Cardinal * Metal Man * Starshell/Will Ye Go to Flanders.
(side 2) Green Willis/Red Wing/Stony Point/Jeff Davis * Lovely
Willie * Top of the Maol/Scartaglen/Britches Full of Stitches
/Sean Ryan's/Ger the Rigger * Somebody * Dr. Ross's 50th
Welcome to the Argyllshire Gathering/Kuppari Eeva.

"The Middle Path" (Castle Island CIR 001, 1987).
Musicians: Connie Dover (keyboard, vocals), Frank Martin (flute, tin
whistle), Kirk Lynch (uillean pipes, bouzouki, guitar,
whistle, mandolin), Roger Landes (cittern, mandolin, guitar,
bodhran), Matt Kirby (hammered dulcimer, bodhran), Mike Dugger
(guitar, mandolin, tenor banjo, vocals), with Rebecca Pringle
(fiddle).
Producers: Scartaglen.
Musical selections: (side 1) Gander in the Pratie Hole/Dever the
Dancer/Toss the Feathers/Tom Billy's Reel * Siuil Arun *
Jezaig/Cantiga * John Doolan * Valencia Harbor/D.G. Lynch's
Reel. (side 2) Niely Cleere's/As I Walked Out Upon the Ice/
Maids of Ardagh * The Broken Down Squatter * Jolly Journeyman/
Castle Island/Jack Broke Da Prison Door/Fletcher's Delight *
Stoneking/Vinland Reel * Bonny James Campbell/Miss Lillian
Williams.

Both of these albums contain vocal selections sung by Connie Dover or Mike
Dugger mixed with instrumental sets.

Connie Dover's album, which she recorded during Scartaglen's hiatus, mostly
contains vocal selections, and is on CD:

"Somebody" (Taylor Park Music TPMD 0101, 1991).
Musicians: Connie Dover (vocals), with Phil Cunningham (keyboards,
accordian, whistles, cittern, acoustic lead guitar,
percussion), Manus Lunny (guitar, bouzouki, vocal harmonies),
Christy O'Leary (uillean pipes, whistle), Aly Bain (fiddle),
Neil Hay (fretless bass), Gary West (cauld wind pipes), Marcos
Watt (snare drums).
Producer: Phil Cunningham (formerly of Silly Wizard).
Musical selections: Somebody * The Baron of Brackley * On Castle Rock
* Lough Erne's Shore * Jack of Diamonds * Cantus * An Air for
Mary Tipton * O'er the Hills and Far Away * Shenandoah *
Rosemary's Sister.
