I'm especially interested to see 'Stramash' listed. Last I heard,
they broke up years ago had never cut an actual record. I'm only
slightly familiar with Anne Neilson - on "Folk Songs of North East
Scotland" but am struck by truly extraordinary ballad singing.
McNaughton's brilliance pops up here & there (eg the Hamish Tribute) but I
regret I have too little of his and never caught him live either.
Can you tell me who is in the group these days and if they do have
any CDs out?
Thanks.

Nope, sorry.
But - hey. Book early, book often. Orkney Folk Festival tickets sell out,
fast. If you can't do it beforehand by remote, go straight up to the office
as soon as you hit Stromness, if you want to be sure of getting in to any of
the ticket events.
And, say hello if you fancy. I'll be playing clarinet in a tunes-session
somewhere round Stromness. "English loony with beard" will find me.

They are still around, but don't appear to do that many gigs these

Thanx for that. I'll look into them.
Maybe the group will do a garage recording one day.
I'm especially interested in Neilson...If the one cut I have is in any way
typical of her, she's a unique ballad talent.
