My name is Grant Stolle, I'm a DJ out in Portland Oregon. I believe my father was part of a group called The Hammer Singers in the 60s in Wisconsin. They may have performed at a Miss Wisconsin pageant during their time together. After a little research, I believe there was a man named Ted Anderson that was also part of the group that put out a promo 45 on Columbia called House on the Hill / Our Snowflake Dreams. I am really interested in finding out anything about The Hammer Singers and groups that spawned after their inception. I also have reason to believe that they may also have something to do with "If I Had A Hammer".

If you might have any information on the group, I'd love to talk to you and learn what there is to learn about the group & their music.

--Thank you, Grant Stolle

I heard the Hammer Singer perform many time in 1963-64 Memphis TN at a coffee house called the Past Time. Also heard them in Miami in 64 and later back in Memphis at the Bitter Lemon coffee house. Wayne, Ted and I can't remember the bass players name.
