Barbarian is from "barbaros = foreign, literally stammering, from the
unfamiliar sound of foreign toungues. It implies nothing about life-style.
Whether or not Keltoi had a similar meaning, I don't know. Apparently, it
applied originally to the Gauls and was later applied to the remainder of
the Celtic-speaking peoples.
