I've been lurking here for some time, but this is my first post, so
please bear with me! An elderly friend of mine is looking for a
song he remembers from the 1930's with the lyrics:

Forty-seven brave and hardy sailors once were seen
Thirty-three were pensioned off, and that left just fourteen.
So! Fourteen rollicking sailors sailed the rollicking seas ...

The Captain lost his false teeth,
Wherever could they be? ...

They searched the ship and found a lump
of toffee underneath.
So! Fourteen rollicking sailors said,
"Here are your rollicking teeth!"

And so on -

My friend is sure that this song was popular in England and Australia,
as they had the sheet music and a recording of it in the school he
attended as a boy. Does it sound familiar to anyone? I'd love to get
the full lyrics, or sheet music, or a recording (even better), or even
just the title of the song would be a big help!

Please reply to me by e-mail, if possible - many thanks and gifts of
virtual chocolate in advance.
