Does anyone know of any books on the life of phil ochs?

All I know so far has just been from his albumn covers.
(Actually, any books of his music might be nice, too.)

Thanks!

For books on Phil Ochs, there are at least two:

1: _Death of a rebel_ (I forget the author) is a biography, and

2: _The war is over_ is a book of his songs.

I believe that both are out of print.

hope this helps a little.

bio of phil ochs--death of a rebel by marc elliot

songbooks--songs of phil ochs 1965 (circa)
--chords of fame
--the war is over

if you have access to a good university library they
may have copies of the music magazines "broadside" or
"sing-out" both of which covered the folk scene in the
60's and published songs by phil and articles by and about him

any more questions feel free to ask!

cheers,

Here's the full info about the book: _Death_of_a_Rebel_, by Marc
Eliot. It is copyrighted 1979, published by Anchor Doubleday,
ISBN 0-385-13610-2.

BTW, I've though about setting up a Phil Ochs mailing list, does
anybody else out there think this would be worthwhile??
