Apparently Michelle Shocked is playing (with Guy Clark, Allen Toussaint, and
Jamie Notarthomas) at Buffalo State College on the 11th. Does anyone know
of any other dates in the near future (or, for that matter, the far future)?

The liner notes for _Arkansas Traveler_ list a 900 number (1-900-740-0429)
which no longer works, at least from my phone. They also give an address for
"Michelle Shocked c/o Alive Enterprises, 8912 Burton Way, Beverly Hills, CA
90211." I called them and they gave me a fax number, 310-798-3013.
Unfortunately, I don't have easy access to a fax machine. If someone who does
could try faxing a request for tour information to that number and mailing or
posting the response, I would be very grateful.

Incidentally, the liner notes also talk about "Does This Road Go To Little
Rock?", the companion songbook to the album, allegedly "available at retail or
by mail." Music Dispatch (1-800-637-2852, PO Box 13920, Milwaukee, WI 53213,
again from the notes) claims that the book is not out yet and will be out
"sometime this year." But I could have sworn I saw somebody quote from it in
this newsgroup a couple of months ago. What gives?

Feb. 16th - Philadelphia, PA - Chestnut Cabaret
Billing was Michelle, Guy Clark, and Sonny Landreth. I seem to recall
that someone else was listed, but I don't remember who.

There is a preliminary draft type copy floating around
available if you know Michelle, her husband Bart, or a
friend of theirs. It is a fascinating bit of musical
scholarship. I'm not sure I agree with all of it, but
I appreciate it nonetheless.

this slightly mutating songwriters show hit San Francisco earlier
this week. If you have a chance, go see and hear it for sure.
The SF show was comprised of Shocked, Ely, Clark, and Allen
Touissaint. About halfway through the club lost electric power.
After some lovely piano soloing by Touissaint it evolved into a
hootenany capped with the most amazing Goodnight Irene imaginable...
