Can anyone fill in the lyrics to this song? Some or all of the verses may
be out of order. Conversely, I have a pretty good (eclectic) library of
lyrics. Try me if you are stuck. Please e-mail me direct to
<pgree...@aol.com>. Thanks.

lyrics by:

1. In a little caberet in a south Texas border town
2. He couldn't write or angle, and he never cared to make a dime
3. Then one day he was gone, nobody ever saw him 'round

1. sat a boy and his guitar, and the people came from all around
2. just give him his guitar, and he'd be happy all the time
3. he vanished like the breeze, and they forgot him in the little town

1. and all the girls from there to Austin were packing up their bags and
puttin' jewelry in hock

2. and all the girls, from nine to ninety, were snappin' fingers, tappin'
toes and begging him don't stop

3. but all the girls still dream about him, and hang around caberet until
the doors are locked

1. to take a trip, and go and listen, to the little dark-haired boy who
played he tennessee flat top box and he would play...

2.

3. and then one day, on the hit parade, sat the little dark-hared boy who
played he tennessee flat top box and he would play...

Your missing line is:
"And hypnotized and fascinated by the little dark haired boy who
played....."

Thanks for the motivation! I dug out some old sheet music and also found
the song at Nevada under "rosanne_cash" who also sang her Daddy's song.
Here's my lead sheet, which contains some lyric corrections to the
previous posts.
