On WSHU, the public radio in Fairfield, CT, I heard about 6 weeks ago
a live recording of a song called "Driving in Massachusetts" (the
refrain was basically that), from some concert that had taken place
in CT by a male singer/songwriter. I don't remember who it was.
Who does know?

I think I heard Greg Greenway do a song like that - there was a line that went
something like:
"and what the hell is a rotary?"
Was that it?
If anyone finds the lyrics I'd love to have them!

That's not the same as "Entering Marion," another funnier'n hell song
about names of towns in MA, is it?

Don't know who did it; wish I did...

It's definitely a Greg Greenway song -- it's on his first CD - "A Road
Worth Walking Down" -- I've heard him play it many times, but I still get
a laugh out of it.

If it contains the line "What the hell is a rotary?" it's by Greg
Greenway, on his first CD, "A Road Worth Walking Down." As I recall that
one song (on the CD) was recorded live at the Old Vienna in Westboro, Mass.

Greg Greenway wrote the song. I first heard it
in Boston around 1981 or so.

The highway brought be here
From so far away
My only thought for that day
was to survive
Especially since I'd have to drive
in Massachusetts.

There's more, but to avoid flames about
posting copywrited material, I'll stop here.

Anyone else remember the Greg Greenway
Band from the '80s?

Well, I first saw him play in Feb 1994, and I most recently saw him play
this past spring (he gave a concert a few weeks ago, but I couldn't go).
He released a second album this august, called "Singing for the Landlord",
which I like perhaps even better than "A Road Worth Walking Down"... well,
maybe not... that's a tough call.

So, he's still around, and still making beautiful and thought-provoking
music.
