This Wednesday, October 24, 9--11:30 p.m., at Folk Night at The Ship Pub in
St. John’s, Newfoundland, the headliners are Anita Best and Sandy
Morris. There is an open mic set between the two headline sets and open mic
performers get a free Quidi Vidi beer. Also there are door prizes, which are
usually $10 gift certificates donated by sponsors. Also the kitchen is open
until 8 p.m. Cover is only $5.
"While pursuing separate solo careers, Sandy and Anita have been performing
together sporadically since 1969. Their repertoire contains traditional folk
material and contemporary folk material in several languages. Sandy is
acclaimed for his many and varied guitar stylings, Anita for her warm
voice.“
