for its stunning harmonies and love of traditional folk with a modern twist.
Thu. Aug 10 DAVKA $10 This progressive fusion band mixes Jewish Klezmer,
Middle Eastern dance rhythms, classical influences and echoes of India into
a fascinating and complex quilt--a show not to be missed!
Fri. Aug 11 MARIO SANGIOLO $7 Come see this rising new star and see why

Sat. Aug 12 DAVE HERLIHY $8 The former O-Positive lead singer comes back

Sun Aug 13 8PM ACOUSTIC JUNCTION $10 These energetic folk/rockers bring in
their unique sound from Colorado and show why they have been headlining
nationwide. Since their last tour brought them to large rock clubs
seeing them in the ultra-intimate Passim will be a treat.
Wed. Aug 16 CHRIS CHANDLER $5 [FREE!] This Kerrville favorite mixes poetry
and song in a radical, topical style. In Your Face Folk!
Thu. Aug 17 THE PUSH STARS with CHRIS TRAPPER $6 Trapper is the next folk/rock
star to be born...catch him here with his hot band the Push Stars.
Fri. Aug 18 SALAMANDER CROSSING with banjo legend TONY FORTADO $10
I can personally recommend this as a great show for anyone who loves
singer/songwriter folk bluegrass style...the harmonies are amazing, the
songwriting top notch, and Furtado's banjo always blows one away. e-mail
me privately for a review of their last Passim show and CD.
Sat. Aug 19 JON SVETKEY $8 The unique, acoustic folk/punk/pop sounds
of Svetkey shine in this long-awaited return to solo performing. Check

Sun Aug 20 8:00PM EMMA CHRISTIAN $10 This talented harpists sings in both
English and Manx Gaelic, evoking the haunting beauty of the Isle of Man
and Celtic mythology. A rare evening of traditional Manx music.
Monday Aug. 21 RICHARD CAMBRIDGE'S Poet's Theatre presents: THE CIGARETTE
PAPERS $5 Cambridge stars in this one-man drama presentation of
a smoker quitting cold turkey. This powerful yet intimate portrayl
shows addiction and the search for spiritual fulfillment. This performance
is a warm-up for a debut at North Carolina's School for the Arts.
Wed. Aug 23 PENNY LANG $7 [FREE!] This Canadian folk legend mixes blues,
country and singer/songwriter material with amazing guitar. A knock-out
evening for sure.
Thu. Aug 24 PAUL GEREMIA $10 Our own local acoustic blues treasure, Geremia plays with an undeniable passion and inspiring skill, as shown by his
brilliant new Red House Records release.
Fri. Aug 25 BILL CUDDYER with MATT MCGRAIL $8 A unique double bill
featuring two wild, offbeat and humorous new voices from here in New England.
Sat. Aug 26 JAMES MEE CD RELEASE PARTY $8 Come and hear why this Vermont
singer/songwriter is a favorite among so many of his peers. You may know
him from the title track of Christine Lavin's "Big Times in a Small Town:
The Vineyard Tapes"--now he unveils his latest recording.

Mon Aug 28 RAELINDA WOAD'S Coffeehouse for Storytellers and Tribal
Dreamers--This storytelling open mic has a sign-up at 8PM, show time
at 8:30PM, and at 9:30PM a feature by VIJAYA SUNDARAM, a unique
musician and poet who has just returned from India. Watchers $5 Doers $3
Wed. Aug 30 JAMES MONTGOMERY & BRUCE MARSHALL $7 These two blues legends
pair up for an acoustic evening.
Thu. Aug 31 JEFF WILKINSON $8 Rootsy, literate ballads with rock-a-billy
and bluegrass influence as well. This singer/songwriter has a bluesy
voice reminiscent of John Prine, John Hiatt and Bill Morrissey.

with FRED KOLLER. This is a must for songwriters interested in the business
of the music. Koller is a legendary Nashville songwriter, and this
workshop has been given at Berklee College of Music, Nashville & NYC
Songwriters Guilds and the Swannonoa Gathering. This rare opertunity
