The offspring, visiting on Labor Day and waxing trivial, were surprised
when I knew what a woodwose was. Which made my mind wander...

The ways advised by Woses,
Spurred by nightmare fears
Learned in darker years,
Lead through hidden roads
Toward a battlefield,
A field the foe may yield,
If Rohan comes concealed.
So Angmar's king supposes
Gondor's on her own,
Standing all alone,
Unaware of paths
That bring those Riders grim
On ways advised by Woses to him.
