sounder, n., a herd of wild boar

I knew that whales travel in pods, baboons in troops, and even that
crows congregate in murders. But I do not recall thinking about the
nomenclature of wild boar herds until I came across this article the other
day:

Subject: Feral pigs: Pork, chopped | The Economist

http://www.economist.com/news/united-states/21577096-pesky-tasty-addition-landscape-pork-chopped

The recognition prompted the following lyric:

To: "The Sound of Music" [music, Richard Rodgers, lyrics, Oscar Hammerstein]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbQSAdU4Qb4

The hills are alive with the sounder music,
With grunts they have heard for a hundred years.
A hunter can thrive on the sounder music:
I'll plug any hog when a tusk appears.

I may have to stalk through the woods with a loaded gun or an
arrow and bow,
To perch on a cliff in the blazing sun gazing far down below,
To aim from a chopper that skirts the trees as it hovers in air,
To steal through the night till I spot feral pigs in their lair.

I go to the hills when I crave a pork chop.
The squeals I have heard many times before.
My heart will rejoice in the sounder music,
When I bag a boar.

Now could you (or someone else) do a song about the Black Forest's
radioactive pigs?

OOK! (or maybe Oink?) Nice one. Just grossed out my husband and he
only heard the last two lines. :)

Glow, little piggy; glimmer, glimmer.
Glow with your radioactive shimmer.
Do lead us to a grove of truffles.
We trust in your effulgent snuffles.
Glow little piggy; glimmer, glimmer.
You radiate like some excimer.
Leave us a trail you ionize,
And lead us to the prize.

Glow, little pig, with ev'ry curie.
You're on a mission; better hurry.
Glow, little pig, with becquerels global,
Fallout that came down from Chernobyl.
Lead us to gourmet foodstuffs fungal,
Deep in the hidden Schwarzwald jungle.
You're such a scintillating swine,
So, shine, little piggy, shine.

Glow, little porkers, gamma spritzers,
You are the subject of kibitzers.
Charging through towns with wild abandon,
You terrorize each rural canton.
Rampaging into quiet churches,
And then some shops, a sounder lurches.
Hogs like you must stay on the go,
So, glow little piggies, glow.

Glow, little piggy, font of gammas.
You can destroy whole panoramas.
Root, root away, you pork braunschweiger.
We'll track you with a counter Geiger.
Shoot off your rems and rads and betas.
You can turn hunters into haters.
We'll make some bratwurst with a mho,
So glow, little piggy, glow.

Upon sober reflection, I realized that I wrote and posted
the above lyric somewhat hastily. At least two lines seem
to me a bit weak. Below, I've indicated the lines and
two alternatives for each one. Anyone care to vote?

I already have a filk of "Hot Frogs" which is under wraps because it's
based on an unpublished story and the author asked me not to publish it
ahead of the story, so I'll pass.

I had to look that one up:

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/excimer?s=t&path=/

"a molecular complex of two, usually identical, molecules that is stable
only when one of them is in an excited state."

Unfortunately, it should accented on the first syllable, and a scansion
problem with an obscure word is especially confusing.

Possible alternative: "Long may you not grow dimmer."

"Just like a late night horror show" maybe?

The second, I think. :)
