I doubt that. Did you hear what folks did to them?

Thanks.
Same to all celebrating it tomorrow (though that's only USAns, as far as
I know).
I have made corn meal dressing.
Barry is going to make the cranberry jello mold & the pecan pie.

There's an apt-get for that.

Gobble Gobble!
Canadians already had their Thanksgiving, a few weeks ago.
Harvest festivals, by any name, are a Good Thing.
I'm planning to cook a batch of ratatouille as my contribution. Possibly
with added ingredients. But no rats.
There's a season for drumsticks?
We have turkey pieces two or three times a month.
Wrap them in aluminum foil and cook at 350 degrees for 2.5 hours.
Save the juice in the freezer and use it in soup, gravy, etc.
The only difference for Thanksgiving is that I buy more turkey pieces
for all our friends to eat too. Our bird has six wings, six legs, six
thighs, and two half-breasts.
There'll also be cranberry/raspberry/sour cream jello mold, biscuits,
potatoes, corn meal dressing with apples, and Barry's pecan pie.
Yum yum.
Meanwhile we started seeing Christmas movies and ads in October, and I'm
still seeing sales of Halloween candy. Has anyone written a
Hallogivingmas song for the season yet? It should feature Jacko Pilgrim
Clause who rings your doorbell to exchange presents for chocolate bars
-- and then thanks you.

Agreed. Given the Jewish holidays plus Thanksgiving, we have five a
year, and enjoy all of them. The Jewish fall harvest festival is Sukkot
(the full moon of the lunation that starts with Rosh HaShana) and I
usually cook my own mutant tzimmes for it: yams, apricots, prunes,
apples, and raisins. I may do another one for our Newton's Birthday
Party on December 25th since the apples make it a plausible tie in.
We'll also be hanging apples from the ceiling.

Sounds good. Especially the no rats.

Mmmmnnnn n... Mutant Turkey.....
We just did a roast turkey, garden salad, spaetzle, mashed potatoes,
and some grey squash.
Now if I could figure out where to find room to put the pie.

No backbone. And dressing instead of stuffing.
But still very good.

My mother made wonderful pineapple banana squash and carrot cake, and I
have the recipes, but we have so many other starchy dishes at
Thanksgiving.... Maybe someday I'll find a suitable holiday for them.

Some years ago, I saw a nice bit of art speculating on what such a
creature would look like, both on the hoof and roasted whole...
