Where is the best source for recorder music and/or buying recorders, and/or
recorder repair in the US? The Syracuse music shops have virtually no
selections of sheet music. Additionally, I have a really nice old alto, but
the pinch hole is getting a little worn. I would like to either buy a new
instrument or have a brass ring inserted.

The Von Huene Workshop in Brookline,Ma. is a great place for repairs, and
they sell sheet music also. I highly recommend them, as I have not been
disappointed yet.

A very good source is: COURTLY MUSIC UNLIMITED, The Pillars, 84 Main
Street, Warrensburgh, NY 12885-1623

Phone: 1-800-2-RICHIE or FAX (518)623-2869

Richie and Elaine Henzel carry a lot of recorder music and also some
instruments. Members of the Buffalo Recorder Society have found them
very helpful.

If you joined the American Recorder Society you would find in their
magazine, The American Recorder, many adds for other instrument makers
and repairers and other publishers.

The Early Music Shop of New England (also know as the von Huene Workshop)
both sells and repairs instruments and has an extensive collection of
sheet music. They're on the internet - look at some of the earlier
messages for their address. Do you belong to the American Recorder
Society? Their magazine has advertisements from most of the U.S. makers
and dealers. Their address is: 74363...@compuserve.com Good luck!
