After all the talk about Hildegard, I thought I would pick up a copy of the
Ordo Virtutum. But I was told it's been deleted from the EMI catalogue.
Is this dreadful news true? Is it really unavailable?
Also, I know this is a futile question, but if I can't get one any other way,
would anyone consider selling me their Ordo?

Peter.

Last I checked, it was available from Deutsche Harmonia Mundi (which I
believe was once owned by EMI but is now owned by BMG, not to be confused
with RCA or WEA or FHM or the LDS Church). Since BMG does a half-decent job
of supporting its catalogue, chances are good that you can still get Ordo
from them. The catalogue number is 77051-2-RG. If the disc *were* still
an EMI product, you can bet that it would have been deleted approximately
ten minutes after it hit the market.

An edition of the Ordo Virtutum was published by Medieval Institute Publication
s in 1985, and I assume that you can still obtain a copy of it. Their address
is:
Medieval Institute Publications
Western Michigan University
Kalamazoo, Michigan 49008

I hope you find this information useful, and wish you luck in your search.

There is hope. Ordo originally came out on German EMI, but is now
controlled by Deutsche Harmonia Mundi. It is still listed in Opus and
Bielefelder: 77051-2-RG (two mid-priced discs)
