Latin American & Spanish baroque music in Houston & Sacramento

I thought it might be nice to let you know of
some concerts that my group El Mundo will be performing this week

Villancicos y Cantadas de Navidad
Please join us for an exciting program of renaissance and baroque holiday
music from Spain and Latin America featuring some of today’s most vibrant
early music performers. Renowned sopranos Jennifer Lane and Jennifer Ellis
will be accompanied by Richard Savino, vihuela & baroque guitar; violinists
Zachery Carrettin & Adam LaMotte; William Skeen, viol & cello; Corey Jamason,
harpsichord; and Peter Maund, percussion.

Featured composers will include: Juan del Encina, Manuel Quiroz, Rafael
Castellanos, Santiago de Murcia, Antonio de Salazar, José de Orejón y
Aparicio, Juan Frances Iribarren, Roque Ceruti and others.

In March look for Ensemble Galatea (Monica Huggett, violin; Bruce Dickey,
cornetto; Paul Beier & Richard Savino, theorbos/lute & guitars; Gianluca
Capuano, organ) performing virtuoso music of the late 16th and early
seventeenth centuries in San Francisco & Sacramento, California; Vancouver,
British Columbia; Vermillion, South Dakota and Pittsburg, Kansas.

In May duo guitarists Richard Savino and John Schneidermann will perform Haydn
String Quartets arrnged for two guitars by Françios de Fossa (1775-1845).
