Martin Abela Great idea 'Geir Idsø I wish I thought of it, and
had the FB knowledge and time to get it done. Maybe we can close
voting on an arbitrary day in 2012 (say, Jan. 8, 2012) to do some
analysis on the results. I would love to get involved in that. We
certainly need more analysis than "Blood on the Tracks was the
favorite album".

Like BOTT - I won't Vote for it, as it's probally his "Most Accesable"
cd & therefor SOoo many pple choose it & Don't "Get" the 'other'
styles ...like the GR8 "Hi-way 61" for example 0r the 'underground'
feel of deep, dark "Street Legal". imho, ~Den

Michael Michaels there is also a ton of work that has not been
released ( no pun intended)..Dylan is gonna need a presidential style
library to house his sixty plus year career...there is an authorized
archivist.

Skinny Moo I think Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits, Vol. 2 should be
on the list. There are 6 originals on this record: Watching The River
Flow, Tomorrow Is A Long Time, When I Paint My Masterpiece, I Shall Be
Released, You Ain't Goin' Nowhere, Crash On The Levee, plus Quinn The
Eskimo!

Bob Dylan say : There'd be crowds outside my house. And I
said, 'Well, fuck it. I wish these people would just forget about me.
I wanna do something they can't possibly like, they can't relate to.
They'll see it, and they'll listen, and they'll say, 'Well,... let's
get on to the next person. He ain't sayin' it no more. He ain't given'
us what we want,' you know? They'll go on to somebody else. But the
whole idea backfired. Because the album went out there, and the people
said, 'This ain't what we want,' and they got more resentful. And then
I did this portrait for the cover. I mean, there was no title for that
album. I knew somebody who had some paints and a square canvas, and I
did the cover up in about five minutes. And I said, 'Well, I'm gonna
call this album Self Portrait.' Rolling Stone interview taken in 1984
Also, I wasn't going to be anybody's puppet and I figured this
record would put an end to that, I was just so fed up with all that
who people thought I was nonsense. Bob Dylan Say.

Giovanni Maria Varese ‎# 1 Highway 61 Revisited . . .Is a
perfect album, everything is placed in the right place, there is
nothing wrong. Atmosphere, words, sound, everything is really perfect
in this album. This album is a true masterpiece, perhaps the only
expressed by rock music.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4a1PeL5mzY "Blind Willie
McTell" is a song by Bob Dylan, titled after the blues singer Blind
Willie McTell. It was recorded in 1983 but left off Dylan's album
Infidels and officially released in 1991 on the The Bootleg Series
Volumes 1-3 (Rare & Unreleased) 1961-1991 Bob Dylan on the Critics'
Choice Movie Awards 2012

Tribute to Martin Scorsese
Bob Dylan intro-ed by Olivia Harrison

Blind Willie McTell

Seen the arrow on the doorpost
Saying, "This land is condemned
All the way from New Orleans
To Jerusalem."
I traveled through East Texas
Where many martyrs fell
And I know no one can sing the blues
Like Blind Willie McTell

Well, I heard the hoot owl singing
As they were taking down the tents
The stars above the barren trees
Were his only audience
Them charcoal gypsy maidens
Can strut their feathers well
But nobody can sing the blues
Like Blind Willie McTell

See them big plantations burning
Hear the cracking of the whips
Smell that sweet magnolia blooming
(And) see the ghosts of slavery ships
I can hear them tribes a-moaning
(I can) hear the undertaker's bell
(Yeah), nobody can sing the blues
Like Blind Willie McTell

There's a woman by the river
With some fine young handsome man
He's dressed up like a squire
Bootlegged whiskey in his hand
There's a chain gang on the highway
I can hear them rebels yell
And I know no one can sing the blues
Like Blind Willie McTell

Well, God is in heaven
And we all want what's his
But power and greed and corruptible seed
Seem to be all that there is
I'm gazing out the window
Of the St. James Hotel
And I know no one can sing the blues
Like Blind Willie McTell

Blood on the Tracks is Bob Dylan's 15th studio album, released
by Columbia Records in January 1975. The album marked Dylan's return
to Columbia after a two-album stint with Asylum Records.

This album, which marked a resurgence of critical acclaim for
Dylan's work after the poorly received Planet Waves, was greeted
enthusiastically by fans and critics. In the years following its
release it has come to be regarded as one of his best albums; it is
quite common for subsequent records to be labeled his "best since
Blood on the Tracks." It is also commonly seen as a standard for
confessional singer-songwriter albums; though Dylan has denied that
the songs are autobiographical, his son Jakob Dylan has stated: "The
songs are my parents talking." Most of the lyrics on the album revolve
around heartache, anger, and loneliness. In 2003, the album was ranked
number 16 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 greatest albums of all
time.

The album reached #1 on the Billboard 200 charts and #4 on the
UK Albums Chart. The single "Tangled Up in Blue" peaked at #31 on the
Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. The album remains one of Dylan's all-
time best-selling studio releases, with a double-platinum US
certification by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Highway 61 Revisited is the sixth studio album by singer-
songwriter Bob Dylan. It was released in August 1965 by Columbia
Records. On his previous album, Bringing It All Back Home, Dylan
devoted Side One of the album to songs accompanied by an electric rock
band, and Side Two to solo acoustic numbers. For Highway 61 Revisited,
Dylan used rock backing on every track, except for the closing 11-
minute acoustic song, "Desolation Row". Critics have written that
Dylan's ability to combine driving, complex, blues-based rock music
with the power of poetry made Highway 61 Revisited one of the most
influential albums ever recorded.http://www.youtube.com/watch?

It's been Highway 61 for about the last 20 something years, and
probably still is but each album has it's time to get immersed in. New
Morning is anytime mid-week before lunch. Blonde on Blonde is midnight
to 2am on Fridays or Saturdays. Bringing It All Back Home goes down
well during dinner with friends, while Another Side is best on the
move (car or iPod). Knocked Out Loaded is good if you're waiting
around for something or someone to arrive, whereas Desire suits if
you're decision making. Dylan & The Dead works well on the toilet.
