It is Edie Brickell. She did it for Born on the Fourth of July, that
Tom Cruise/Oliver Stone flick. She also does a cameo performing the
song in a bar. Not surprisingly it's on the soundtrack.

Besides Edie Brickell, I know Brian Ferry & Roxy Music cover Hard Rain.

I spent a couple of years in Korea in the early '70's. There was a female
Korean singer with a gorgeous voice (name unknown unfortunately) who sang a
note for note version of this song in Korean. I deeply regret never having
picked up the album while there. I don't know how popularthe song was at the
time but I heard it over the radio several times.

The phrasing in Korean was as compelling as the Bobster's in my opinion.

As far as I know Baez recorded "A Hard Rains a-Gonna Fall" for official
recordings twice. Once on the album "Farewell Angelina" and once live
for "European Tour '83."
