Bob Dylan cronies Phil Ochs and David Blue both caught on to Haggard early, covering his songs and praising his songwriting.

And, as with Ochs and his "tribute" to Haggard, one of my favorite eras of David Blue, and again, it was Blue trying something different, Country & Western singer-songwriter style work, and using his "real" name again, S. David Cohen.

And of course, again, R.I.P. Merle Haggard.

I met him several times...he never discussed anything relating to 'Bob Dylan'...he was, sadly, a broken junkie...

I heard David Blue described similarly in the past.

One book called him an "ardent" junkie.

Nice Baby and the Angel is my favorite if the David Blue albums.

Cupid's Arrow is also great...
