The Dylan part of the interview is five minutes and a few seconds in.
Both do Dylan imitations. Fun.

Hey Babs! That was great! My computer ADHD went into remission, and I
watched about 8 and a half minutes (until I was sure they were done
talking about my husband, haha, stupid joke).

Anyway, I LOVED Conon's impression, and LOL, a great big huge
HA!!!!!!!!! about I know you from the T.V., the way he said it, (btw,
this is a little different than the story with Al Gore and Conan on
the computer when it happened, p.s., I am madly in love with Conan for
being pushed towards Bob Dylan and that he didn't think he was cool
enough to approach him himself, he is my new best friend, anyway) and
I don't quite remember what John said, but then I do, later, and it
almost brought tears to my eyes, because I love Bob so much, and I
feel just the same way, he said, he would never want to punch Bob, and
that's exactly how I feel, Mark Scalise once said he would love to see
Bob and me in a sparring match, and I was APPALLED, I was like, omg, I
could never hit him, and I don't want anyone else too, either.

He probably thinks I'm a great big ninny, or like his mommy or
something. (Actually, he probably doesn't think of me at all.)

Well, thanks so much for this clip, I LOVED IT, keep 'em coming if you
can, I am truly truly truly grateful. :)

Yes. It IS different, and I've been trying to remember the original
story.
If you do, I'd love to hear it.

> I don't quite remember what John said,

John imitated Bob saying he wished some movie hadn't had to have ended
the way it did, but he
knew it did. It was a pretty good imitation. Funny too. I liked what
John had to say about sometimes feeling like he was in a petting zoo.
There it is. Can I touch it? Does it talk? Hilarious and heartfelt as
well.

Conan had me laughing too about wearing a Conan O'brien mask.
Actually, that's the only way he
might not be recognized -- with his height and hair and all. People
wouldn't think he would wear a mask of himself. Well, now they would..

Oh, man. It's so close, but I can't bring my memory to the surface.
SOS!

Hi. :)

Right, thanks for the retell. (ring them bells, the way the movie
ended, sure, now I sorta remember)

Ok, the story about Conan (AS BEST AS I REMEMBER, DON'T HOLD ME TO IT)
is like Bob saw Conan coming at him, this was backstage at MSG or
something, and like Conan was trying to get Bob's attention, and Bob
Dylan was like, "Oh G-d no, get me away from this loser" and Bob saw
Al Gore, and so it was like, Hey Al, and let's totally get away from
this Conan dork, and they did. It put Conan in a really bad light.

I'll never forget Conan's first show. You know, like, OMG, who is
going to replace Dave Letterman? What's he gonna do?

The monologue was terrific.

Now, I am not one to laugh at other people's looks, or things like
that, I mean it, I knew this was SO BAD, and also, like, sure, I
noticed it, but it never made any difference to me, I didn't care, I
liked him anyway, but Conan made this joke about going to the NBC
store to try on the Jay Leno strap on chin. I couldn't believe he said
that. I don't remember if I was laughing out loud or not. But it was
hysterical.

I didn't like Jay Leno making fun of Bob Dylan after the grammies,
what was with Dylan, and then imitating the guilt gut. That's what
it's called, supposedly, when that happens, I learned from this T.V.
show 7th Heaven. The way the air comes up from your stomach, it's
guilt.

I figured, later, it was Bob Dylan being guilty about using me to
write these songs that he waited three years to write after we met,
and had nothing else to write about, and he didn't really mean it, or
it was too good material to pass up, so he was guilty about that.

At the time, I just figured it was about me, and I was about as
miserable as Bob, and I didn't care, and he was burping on T.V., and I
didn't care about that either, all I wanted was to be with him, and it
wasn't happening, so there wasn't much to care about in life. I was in
my new apt. in West L.A.. It was no big deal. Nothing really mattered.

You're welcome.

That is ringing bells! Thank YOU!

Conan got so much better after he lost that Andy man, but I knew he
had something.

Jay Leno should stay home and play with his cars.

I've heard that Jay Leno is a very very nice man. :)

Alex Trebec, on the other hand, is an asshole. (But I forgive him).

It was perfect, wasn't it? By the way, I answered your post earlier in
more detail. Maybe you can see it. I cannot. A post I made after that
is in full view. I can't figure out what happens to my missing posts.
Sometimes people tell me they're there. For all I know, I post
everything twice.
I can't even remember what I wrote. Something about John Cusack and
High Fidelity I think.

OMG! THIS IS AWFUL! This is the worst thing I have ever heard! You
answered my post in full detail, something about John Cusack and High
Fidelity, I CAN'T SEE IT EITHER!!!!!!!

This is the worst thing EVER!

Where are you posting from?

Do you use google, or a newsreader, not that I know how to help you,
omg, can you repost it, it's not on the board, I look at RMD through
google groups, the link to it is in BOBDYLAN.COM. DAMN, THIS SUCKS
REAL BAD!

POST IT AGAIN! :/

The sucker punch line made me laugh. Because it was the polar opposite of
Cusack's fawning.

Glad you liked it. I've played it several times already. Sometimes
Conan can be a bit too goofy for me, but not in this interview. He was
funny. And so was John. I liked him in High Fidelity, but he has never
been a favorite of mine. I loved his Dylan story though, and his
imitation was pretty fine!

LOL! I was just watching the California fires raging on tv and then
read this. It took my mind off the situation for a minute, but it
really is horrendous, isn't it? Hope you're out of harm's way.

I access via Google Groups also. Sometimes my posts appear
immediately, sometimes the
next day and sometimes never. Makes it hard to join an ongoing
discussion.

Since I don't remember what I wrote, I'll have to catch you another
time.

I think Conan's irreverence was refreshing.

Ha! Rachel, it finally appeared, at least to me. Hardly worth the
fuss, but I'm glad it isn't still floating out there in cyberspace.

Oh G-d. I am loathe to admit it, but I am so flaky, I am just kinda
scanning the posts (don't take this to mean that I am not totally
*thrilled* that people are posting and talking here, in the same group
as me (I)) anyway, oh, yeah, so I saw it, but didn't put it together
that that was the post.

I did see it.

Thank Goodness.

Fuck, I wish Google were more reliable. :(

I have lost some posts, too.

In particular, I keep thinking of my post from the bottom of the
world. I was on speed. Maybe it was too scary, hahaha.
