A friend of mine who used to be cool and who used to (or still does) love Bob Dylan was really disturbed the other night, she heard Dylan say in a television interview that he had "sold his soul to the Devil"... she's a born-again Baptist type and this truly had her bothered.

Seems like I heard this on that 60 Minutes interview, maybe?

But it obviously wasn't for real.

Or was it?

This whacky chick seems to think so.

I wonder if the Devil came to visit him in his hotel room?

I wonder what he was wearing.

Maybe a red suit with a red cape, horns and a pitchfork, all aflame, without being consumed.

This same lady got bothered when I told her I watched the Noah movie and that it was actually pretty good, not disrespectful to Noah, The Bible, or anything, as far as I could tell, and rather than just believing what all the Baptist critics were spewing, she should watch it herself and see if I wasn't right.

Oh, no... she started blabbering about how the movie "isn't true" to The Bible and so on, so I just stopped talking about it, just as I did when she made the bizarrely naïve statement about Bob Dylan and the Devil.

These Baptists really want to believe that the King James Bible is just straight out for real literal history, which to anyone with a mind just has to be absurd.

Here it is.

To me it sounds like Dylan's same old mind games. After all, who really is the "Chief Commander"? In no way does he say "The Devil"... and it sounds more like he means "God", to me.

:D

Question: Why do you still do it? Why are you still out here?
Dylan: It goes back to that destiny thing. I made a bargain with it a long time ago, and I'm holding up my end.
Q: What was your bargain
Dylan: To get where I am now.
Q: Should I ask whom you made the bargain with?
Dylan: With the chief commander.
Q: On this earth?
Dylan: (laughing) On this earth and the world we can't see.
