Rare Bob Dylan recordings for collectors: Grossman foundation announces release of "The Wild Blazing Nighttime"

The Harmony Oaks Foundation, in association with the Estate of Albert
Grossman, is proud and excited to announce the release of "The Wild
Blazing Nighttime," a box-set collection of unreleased 1960's
recordings by the legendary singer, songwriter, and cultural icon Bob
Dylan.
"The Wild Blazing Nighttime" includes 7 "enhanced" compact discs,
each including 45-50 minutes of audio recordings and 3-5 minutes of
related video recordings, all drawn from the archives of the late
Albert Grossman, a key figure in American music of the 1960's; the man
who discovered such classic musicians as Bob Dylan, Richard Fariña,
The Band, Peter, Paul and Mary, and Janis Joplin.
The set includes; Bob Dylan's audition tape for Columbia Records,
long thought lost; 2 discs of "demo" recordings from 1962-1969, some
of classic songs, some of previously unheard compositions; and
complete recordings of two classic 1965 Bob Dylan concerts in New York
City, in at the Forest Hills Tennis Stadium and at Carnegie Hall.

"The Wild Blazing Nighttime" is lavishly packaged in a specially
designed box and CD sleeves featuring many wonderful photographs of
Bob Dylan and other musicians from the 1960's, some previously
unpublished. Each enhanced compact disc carries specially designed
computer-graphic images depicting classic moments in Bob Dylan's
1960's career, created by the innovative Florentine artist and
designer Rafaella Canardi.
"The Wild Blazing Nighttime" will begin shipping on June 15, 2002.
From April 15 to May 15, the Harmony Oaks Foundation will accept
preorders for "The Wild Blazing Nighttime" at the special price of
$120.00, with an additional shipping, handling, and insurance charge
of $15.00 for the first set and $6.00 for each additional set included
in the same order. From May 15 to June 15, advance orders may be
placed at the preissue price of $150.00. Complete ordering details
will be available on the Foundation's website beginning April 15,
2002. Under the terms of the licensing agreement for these
recordings, the Foundation cannot guarantee the acceptance of any
orders received after the initial issue date, unless certain sales
limits would not be exceeded.
The Harmony Oaks Foundation, holding certain publication rights for a
limited period of time under license from the Estate of Albert
Grossman, holds the right to issue a limited edition of these
recordings as the result of the settlement of certain litigation by
the Estate. The Foundation does not represent that any public
performance rights is embodied in these recordings, and offers them
for sale to collectors of popular music. Questions regarding
broadcast rights to these recordings are advised to contact the
representatives of the Estate of Albert Grossman directly.
The nonporofit Harmony Oaks Foundation was established by the family
of Albert Grossman to provide support for financially needy singers,
songwriters, and musicians from the 1950's and 1960's, and to promote
interest in the songs and recordings of those musicians through
educational programs and special recordings for collectors. While the
proceeds from the sale of "The Wild Blazing Nighttime" support the
Foundation's activities, purchase of "The Wild Blazing Nighttime" does
not qualify as a tax-deductible charitable contribution. The
Foundation hopes to offer a special edition of "The Wild Blazing
Nighttime" to persons making suitable contributions in support of its
activities, but legal approval for such an edition remains pending.

$120 is ridiculous for a 7 CD though. Anyone have any idea if this will
include anything that us bootleg collectors don't already have?
