I've been asked for a Wedding Compilation, to be handed out with free
tickets to the wedding of a friend's son. Originally, I took Rhino's two
Rockin' and Rollin' Wedding Songs compilations and combined them. Since
then, I tweaked the compilation a bit, and then forgot about it.

Special note to poisoned rose. This is a conceptual compilation about
marriage and is not based on the word "wedding" or "marriage" so you
don't have to throw in your usual insults.

Seeing as this compilation once again needs some major tweaking, I
wonder if anyone has any suggestions for it.

Aye. so these love birds are elderly? It's good to find love so late
in life, my grandfather is 90+ and working on wife #3. It's what
keeps ya going.

Whatever you do, DON'T include 'Fooled Around and Fell in Love'. Worst
beginning lyrics ever for a wedding reception.

Nope, it's a young couple, the groom being the son of a friend.

I do like that song Fooled Around and Fell In Love -it was the theme of
a wonderful affair I had in 1973.

dear Senator rr,

o i don't know. i think i've gone on record as being opposed to
marriage. weddings maybe not so much.

here's one, arlo's Wedding Song from his overlooked if not dismissed
"Outlasting the Blues":
Arlo Guthrie Wedding Song.wmv
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z72E68soVhM

tells a nice story with a happy ending. from my perspective, of
course.

here's one that should be considered, if only to be shot down:
Noel Paul Stookey - Wedding Song (There is Love)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6tlo0aVII0

i like how this performance, the intro, harkens to his early "standup
comic" persona.

i guess billy idol's white wedding deserves a listen.

carly's that's the way is probably inappropriate for the occasion.

wedding bell blues wasn't 5th Dimension, it's a laura song.

haven't been to a wedding some time gone by. usually they have a
version of Isley Brothers Shout. everybody dances.

that's about it really

o gosh i forgot to tell the amusing, at least to me, story, if ya've
got a minute.

a buddy of mine at work went to a wedding this past weekend. he was
uncertain of the demonination, but it was a second marriage for both.

seems the groom's wife had been dying of the cancer for some time, and
on her way out she was inclined to suggest that the other woman, the
new bride, might be a good fit for him. kind of an arranged marriage
pre-mortem.

that said, when the vows were made, the final clause was "do you take
him/her to be your lawfully wedded husband/wife, til death do you
part, or until the Lord returns".

never heard that one. makes me want to renew my vows. i'll take it up
with the missus.

My Dylan-hating wife thought so. She's such a youngster.
